I have completed my PhD under the guidance of Dr. Rajiv Ratn Shah, at IIIT-D and Prof. Ponnurangam Kumaraguru, at IIIT-H. My broad research area is Natural Language Processing, specifically Indic languages. I wish to attain a sustantial amount of knowledge in and out of domain of expertise. And with that knowledge I want to make this a world a better place.
You’ll find a chronological catalogue of my photos on Facebook. On Instagram, however, I usually share my thoughts (and, admittedly, I’m more active there since most of my friends migrated there 😅). For longer rants—I mean, detailed reflections—you’ll find me on Reddit. I also contribute to Wikipedia as a small way of giving back to the community. For my professional side, feel free to check my LinkedIn profile.
Hobbies
-
Theater
- I have written and directed the following street plays:
- Kya Khelein: a political satire
- Charagari: on the health of India’s healthcare system
- GenZ aur Aarakshan: an informative play on caste-based reservations
- One more from 2015–2016 about men’s rights—no video survived, unfortunately.
- Wrote an untitled stage play, though I never got the chance to stage it.
- I also enjoy watching stage plays as an audience member.
- Poetry: I love reading poetry and occasionally write under the pen name takheer (meaning “tardiness”—yes, I’m always late).
- Informative Content Creation: I sometimes create videos on topics close to me. My channel is One Agnostic Indian.
- Swimming: still trying to perfect the butterfly stroke 😅
- Exercise: when pools aren’t open, I switch to running. My personal best is 1 km in 5 minutes—nothing Olympic-worthy, but I’ll take it!
- Travelling with a Purpose: I prefer visiting culturally significant places rather than tourist hotspots just for photos.
- Quizzing: My friends and I started a professional-style quizzing venture in college—think Siddhartha Basu and Derek O’Brien. We called it Quizzine.
- Chess: beginner level—find me on chess.com as @koiRitwikHai.
Skills
- Driving: Licensed for cars and two-wheelers. Most experienced with my trusty gearless Activa, but I can ride a bike and drive a car (though practice won’t hurt).
- Cooking: Recently picked up cooking. I can manage a decent arhar dal—for now, MasterChef is a long way off 😝.
